Fun fact: Cake smashes were actually one of the very first things I offered when I started my photography journey.

Before the weddings and the big bridal parties took over my weekends, I was in the studio making funny noises to get a one year old to smile. And honestly? I still love it just as much today.

There is something so full circle about photographing a couple's wedding day, and then getting the email a year or two later that it is time to plan their baby’s first birthday photos. It is, hands dow,n the best compliment I can get.

Keeping it Classic Over the years, I have seen every trend come and go. I have seen the giant balloon arches, the elaborate character themes, and the bright neon props.

But if I have learned anything from shooting these sessions for so long, it is that less is more.

That is why my cake smash style has always been (and will always be) minimalist. I want you to look back at these photos in 20 years and see your baby, not a trendy prop that screams "2025."

I want to capture the chubby little hands, the first tooth, and the genuine curiosity of a baby tasting sugar for the first time.

The "Stress-Free" Promise Because I have been doing this a while, I also know how exhausted parents of a one year old are. You do not need another project to manage.

That is why my sessions are designed to be the easiest thing you do all year:

  • I provide the cake: A petite, white professional smash cake is waiting for you.
  • I provide the studio: I have an in-home studio so you never have to pay a studio fee.
  • I handle the cleanup: You just grab your sticky baby and head home. I will scrub the floor.

Let's Celebrate Whether I photographed your wedding or we are meeting for the first time, I would love to welcome you into my home studio in Mehlville to celebrate this huge milestone.
